Day 4.

Seeing as I am a bit of a technophile, today's pictures have to do with an interesting tweak on some old(ish) software. To some, this post might be meaningless - no problem! To those that understand it - great!

Kindle Fire
Above is my Kindle Fire tablet - which runs the a heavily modified, older version of the Android OS. The Kindle is great for certain things, especially if you are tied into the Amazon ecosystem, but is limited to downloading only apps approved by Amazon, and has a book-centric (in my opinion - slightly annoying), bookshelf-style interface. However, it's possible to get rid of the Kindle interface, and replace it with an new Android OS. And then the options are unlimited.

My Kindle Fire / Android Tablet
So, with a few tweaks, voila: Android tablet on the cheap.

Day 1.

Today I received a package in the mail, and its contents were greatly anticipated. I spend many hours considering my options, reviewing sources, and wringing my hands at the thought of spending that much money. The package contained a Canon 7D—A camera I had been coveting for a long time, as I continued to use my (very old) Rebel XS, which took good pictures when combined with a lot of post-production editing. It was a great little camera, which I received second hand (thank you Mom Quigg) and used on 3 continents over a number of years. But it was time for an upgrade.

So, in an effort to maximize the use of my new camera, be photographically creative, and enjoy taking more pictures, I am embarking on a 365 project - 1 picture, every day, for 1 year.

Here we go!

Winding through the mountains toward the coast.

Through the fog!

Waterfall!

On top of the world (sort of).
